It's the start of a new month! I would immediately and gratefully mooch any and every photography book written by Bryan Peterson. I would also love to mooch a copy of Basic Studio Lighting: Photographer's Complete Guide to Professional Techniques by Tony L. Corbell. Also, any book featuring the work of Dorothea Lange. In a somewhat different creative sprit, I would also be intested in The Harmony Guide To Crocheting: Techniques and Stitches or any similar book showing different crochet stitches or patterns. Lapkričio 1, 2009, 9:32pm (Į viršų)Žinutė 2: jenniebouwmanI would love any books by Lucy Fitch Perkins. My user name is jlbouwman. I too would love to mooch any books about Digital Photography. Lapkričio 2, 2009, 9:28am (Į viršų)Žinutė 4: Jenson_AKA_DLI'm still looking to mooch hardcover editions of Melusine, The Virtu, The Mirador and Corambis by Sarah Monette and Blood Rites by Jim Butcher. Also still looking for any edition of Blossom Culp and the Sleep of Death and The Dreadful Future of Blossom Culp by Richard Peck. On the off chance that anyone has these manga, I'd love to complete my Night of the Beasts set with volumes 3 and up, my After School Nightmare set with volumes 2 and 10 and my Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle series with volumes 4, 5 and 7. Many international mooches sent out means I have many points. My wife would like a copy of Among the Thugs, if anyone has one to spare to a moocher in the US. edit-Got one! Nevermind. Žinutė pakeista jos autoriaus, Lapkričio 2, 2009, 10:30am. Still looking for a copy of Blue Moon by Alyson Noel if anyone has it. If anyone has a copy, I would love to find The Many Lives and Secret Sorrows of Josephine B. Lapkričio 2, 2009, 7:17pm (Į viršų)Žinutė 8: FallingPetalsI would love a book by anyone as long as it could keep my interest, I have a giant wishlist although I have not added any books to my online wishlist yet... Lapkričio 6, 2009, 2:50pm (Į viršų)Žinutė 9: Belladonna1975I am looking for any and all Jean Plaidy reprints done by Arrow books. I got my first one from bookmooch today and they are so pretty! They did some reprints in the US by Random House but most of them are different than the books that have been reprinted in the UK by Arrow. So, I need them all except for The Shadow of the Pomegranate. Thanks!! 6: I posted in the old October thread before I realised we are now in November! Anyway to reiterate: I have a copy TBR. When I am done I am happy to list and reserve it for you if you are not in any hurry :) >2 jenniebouwman -- about your search for Lucy Fitch Perkins -- those books are hard to come by, partly because of their age (I know, I've been looking for some myself). But if you can be happy reading on the screen, or downloading, many of Perkins' books have been digitized and made available by Project Gutenberg. You might want to have a look: http://www.gutenberg.org/browse/authors/... There's also a lot of other books to be found there -- if they are old enough to no longer be covered by copyright (50 years after the death of the author, I believe). http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page Žinutė pakeista jos autoriaus, Lapkričio 7, 2009, 8:13am. #10 That's great, Veritas. I would love it! Have checked in all my local bookshops for it, but they don't have it, and the second print isn't due until March 2010. I'm in Ireland, but if you can't send here I can arrange an angel mooch. Thanks soooooooooo much! :) I picked up copies of Feminism: The Essential Historical Writings and The Feminine Mystique off my library's free shelves. They are mass market paperbacks from the 1970's, but in good condition for their age. I'm offering them 2-for-1 to anyone who is interested. And, if you're interested, I'll also throw in The Letters of Rachel Henning. The book is a collection of letters written 1853 -1882 and "give a vivid and fascinating insight into life in Colonial Australia as seen through the eyes of a previously sheltered young English woman." #13 Puts hand up *jumps up and down* *shouts* 'me, me' I want them all (if they haven't been claimed). #14> I'll post them for you and send your points back after you mooch. Should be able to get them to the PO on Monday, barring mandatory overtime at work. Lapkričio 7, 2009, 5:44pm (Į viršų)Žinutė 16: ealaindraoiI went to a FOL sale today and picked up some goodies! I have a copy of People of the Book hardcover, ex-library with the plastic covering. This book has some damage, the binding is coming away from the spine inside the front cover. All the pages are there and intact for now. It's a good reading copy. No waterstains/highlighting/pen marks that I can see. I'd prefer to send this to the US as it's a hardcover - but will hold for an angel for the first one to PM. Anyone want dibs before I list it? My prediction was totally wrong! 175 wishers and no one wants it? In-conceivable! Žinutė pakeista jos autoriaus, Lapkričio 8, 2009, 4:09pm. Lapkričio 7, 2009, 10:48pm (Į viršų)Žinutė 17: jenniebouwman#11 Thanks a bunch! I will look now. Lapkričio 8, 2009, 12:54am (Į viršų)Žinutė 18: SugarCreekRanchIf anyone has a blank book (journal, diary, etc) with a cover that would appeal to a 10-year-old girl, my daughter would love to mooch it. Thanks! Lapkričio 8, 2009, 1:25am (Į viršų)Žinutė 19: macsbrainsIt may not fit what you are looking for, because it's not smaller or hardcover, but I have an 8.5 x11 inch softcover cat journal/notebook with lined pages and drawings and quotations about cats. It was mine at that age because I loved cats, but it also meant I couldn't bear to write in it. Lapkričio 8, 2009, 10:59am (Į viršų)Žinutė 20: SugarCreekRanch19: My daughter says she would love that -- Thanks! I didn't see anything like that in your inventory, but I could have missed it. Please let me know when you've added it, or tell me that I'm blind and that it's already there. :-) Lapkričio 8, 2009, 1:17pm (Į viršų)Žinutė 21: macsbrainsIt wasn't in my inventory because I didn't know how I should describe it, so I left it off and kept it around for when my inventory goes low. I'll post it for you and send you an note. I wrote the previous post from memory. I have it in my hands now, and it turns out the pages are unlined. Will that make a difference? (Looking at it now I remember why I liked it so much that I couldn't write it in!) Žinutė pakeista jos autoriaus, Lapkričio 8, 2009, 1:34pm. Lapkričio 8, 2009, 5:04pm (Į viršų)Žinutė 22: SelenaSelenaI'm looking for a book to replace my mother's worn out copy of The All New Fanny Famer Boston Cooking School Cookbook. My mother insists the new version is not the same. She wants the same one she has from around 1968. Is anyone getting rid of this? Lapkričio 8, 2009, 5:11pm (Į viršų)Žinutė 23: SelenaSelenaI think it's the ninth or tenth edition? I'm not sure. The book is in shreds. We only have pages 17 through the plum section of the index. Lapkričio 8, 2009, 6:15pm (Į viršų)Žinutė 24: DanneenessI'm looking for Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit by Jeanette Winterson, hopefully in a pocket paperback edition, so it can fit in a stocking. run out of bookshelves, huh? Lapkričio 8, 2009, 7:45pm (Į viršų)Žinutė 26: DanneenessOddly enough, I have been using shoeboxes and the shoe shelves in my closet for bookshelves... maybe I should lay off the bookmooching... nah. I know where my priorities are. Ha- I have visions of someone buying shoes just to get the boxes to store the books! If anyone has an unwanted copy of this edition of Shopaholic and Sister, please let me know. I'd love to mooch it! #27 LOL...I have visions of my daughter justifying her shoe shopping addiction to get the shoeboxes to help me justify my compulsion to acquire books. We would probably need family addiction counseling. Wouldn't it be perfect? As an excuse I mean? lol. :) Oh, sure I own 400pairs of shoes, but I only bought them so I could store my books! Lapkričio 10, 2009, 12:04am (Į viršų)Žinutė 31: michellereadsHey mac, you're up kinda late. You're gonna catch another bug (as am I)! M. Lapkričio 10, 2009, 12:19am (Į viršų)Žinutė 32: Mareofthesea30: Thanks for the excuse... hehehehe... Mare... who's running off to explain how her addictions HELP each other... Hey Michelle- Had to finish a paper that was part of a take home midterm- due this this morning (Tuesday) so I was "cramming" I guess you could say. I hope neither one of us never gets another bug like the last one! :) Lapkričio 10, 2009, 7:47am (Į viršų)Žinutė 34: michellereadsMe too. Hope that's it for this winter. I am tired today. I knew I'd pay for my midnight lurking. And no coffee because I am going for a (routine) fasting blood test. RE: shoe boxes If you go to a shoe store & talk with a manager or assistant manager about wanting/needing empty shoe boxes, you might get kissed!! Shoe stores frequently have to throw out empty boxes, but if you are willing to pick them up quickly or on a regular basis they are willing to hold them for you. Or you can take what they have available when you are there... not always a lot.. they will tear them down quickly since many stores do not have much storage space anymore. Lapkričio 10, 2009, 11:16am (Į viršų)Žinutė 36: cdnbookwormSkittles, Thanks for that info, I'm always looking for shoeboxes for my photographs to go into. I'm wondering if anyone has a copy of The Picture of Dorian Grey by Oscar Wilde hanging around that they no longer want. A friend needs it for school and doesn't want to spend over $18.00 CDN for it. I offered to find it for her as she has done many favours in the past. I don't mind smooching an extra point either. ~ Missy Pats autorius pašalino šią žinutę. Lapkričio 10, 2009, 2:23pm (Į viršų)Žinutė 38: joannasephineI'm looking for a copy of Geraldine Clinton Little's Separation: Seasons In Space A Western Haibun. I don't mind too much about condition, as long as it isn't a biohazard … Lapkričio 10, 2009, 7:49pm (Į viršų)Žinutė 39: melissasydI am looking for a copy of The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star by Nikki Sixx as part of a Xmas present for my sister. Condition doesn't matter - we're all aiming for an economically prudent Christmas in our house this year so a used look works :) Žinutė pakeista jos autoriaus, Lapkričio 10, 2009, 7:49pm. I'm aware that this is a bit of a long shot, but you can't fault me for lack of trying! Does anyone have a copy of "Spend, Spend, Spend" by Vivian Nicholson and Stephen Smith that they would be willing to send to me? It was published in 1977 and is very hard to come by without paying a hefty price! Even if someone had a copy I could read and then send back, I'd be eternally grateful. This is a group about the book swapping site BookMooch, and this thread is specifically for people to post messages about book that they are looking for. It's not a place for random chat, and this isn't a chat room so there may not be people on at exactly the same time as you. You're welcome to post messages about the books you've read, or anything really, you just need to find a suitable group - go to "groups" and do a search. Or else try the Off-topic group. Have fun ;) Look at Andrew being all nice and helpful! Lapkričio 16, 2009, 9:01pm (Į viršų)Žinutė 45: macsbrainsI'm looking for books of all kinds on biology. Specifically I'm looking for stuff on phylogeny and/or taxonomy, or things relating to anatomy & physiology (of animals, plants, bacteria - not too picky). Also I would squeal in delight to find layman books on math, chemistry, physics or any kind of hard science. I found one guy who listed a bunch of math books and I mooched practically his whole inventory, but it doesn't look like he's going to respond to them. My inner nerd is sad :( Lapkričio 19, 2009, 10:31pm (Į viršų)Žinutė 46: cdnbookwormHello all, I'm looking for hardcover very good condition Twilight series books by Stephenie Meyer (a gift for my sister). I'm willing to double the points (so I'll add an extra three points per book) to whomever is willing to part with the books. I'm also looking for Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris I'll smooch an extra point for that one as well. I prefer in very good condition as this is also a gift for a friend. Thanks for looking! ~ Missy Hi- does anyone happen to have a copy of Ashes to Ashes (Blood Ties, Book 3) ? I have started the series and have all of them but the 3rd one- I would like to read them in order. If you have a copy you are willing to send out let me know. Thanks! Lapkričio 23, 2009, 5:37pm (Į viršų)Žinutė 48: ForeignCircus46: I might have a copy of Dead Until Dark- I'll check my shelves when I get home and let you know... Okay, don't laugh at me... I'm willing to smooch extra points for a copy of Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel. If you're reading it right now I'm willing to wait! :D It couldn't hurt to ask, right? sorry but I hear some snickering... Lol!! However, I'm not as foolish as I apparently thought, because someone over on the 75 book challenge thread just found Wolf Hall in a thrift store for $1.50!!!! How about Howard's End is on the Landing by Susan Hill? I'm willing to smooch extra points for that one too - it's also a long shot but perhaps not as long as Wolf Hall!! Lapkričio 24, 2009, 2:16pm (Į viršų)Žinutė 52: Belladonna1975#51 Howard's End is on the Landing sounds fantastic! I have been eagerly awaiting that book since I am big fan of Susan Hill already and I love books about books. Good luck with the hunting! Yeah, books about books are great! I feel like the author is a friend already when I know they love books too. It just keeps fueling the book obsession we all have, doesn't it? Hello, I am looking for The Mummy's Mirror: A Miss Sydney Regency Mystery by Dawn Aldridge Poore I live in Argentina, No one happens to have a good copy of The NPR Curious Listener's Guide To American Folk Music? Or any books about the history of Boston or Ma. I wanted to give them to a friend and my mom for Christmas... Thanks! Žinutė pakeista jos autoriaus, Lapkričio 27, 2009, 6:29am. I am looking for Hard Eight by Janet Evanovich And I know this is probably a long shot, but does anyone have any books on learning the Nepali language? I will smooch extra points to anyone who is willing to share with me! Thank you. Lapkričio 28, 2009, 10:22pm (Į viršų)Žinutė 57: SqueakyChuHehe! I only have Eleven on Top* here at home. *ETA: If annyone wants it, I'll be gald to post it on BM with a reserve. Otherwise, it'll be given away at a book fair in Kensington, Maryland this coming April. Žinutė pakeista jos autoriaus, Lapkričio 29, 2009, 12:32pm. Any beaders out there? I have a very slightly worn copy of Beadwork Creates Beaded Beads. I plan to add it to my inventory later today and will be happy to reserve it. 58: Ooh, me please, pick me! I would love the Beadwork book. Are you able to ship to South Africa? If not, please keep it for me anyway - I'll find an Angel :) 59> It's a small book, just 110 pages, so I'm sure I can afford to send it off to you. It has 30 designs, with pictures of all and the steps illustrated. I'll add it now and reserve it for you. Awesome, thank you so much VeraMarie! Now to buy some new beads... Gruodžio 3, 2009, 10:19pm (Į viršų)Žinutė 62: RebeccaAnn>60: If not, I'd be more than willing to Angel it for inkspot. She sent me a book and I'm still looking for an opportunity to return the favor :) Does anyone have any Astronomy textbooks, Human Biology textbooks, or any books on 18th century Literature? I'm taking those classes next semester and I thought I would get a jump start. ;) I will be glad to smooch an extra point. I've got Discovering the Universe by William J. Kaufmann ISBN:0716722968 if you want it. I don't have it listed right now, but let me know if you want it. It is not the current edition, that's why I listed the ISBN. Someone else might have something better I've recently re-discovered my love of wordsearch books. I've cleaned out most of the selection at the 99cent store here. Any chance someone here might have a wordsearch book in their inventory? I forget if I asked this before- But does anyone have: Ashes To Ashes (Blood Ties, Bk 3)? Or The girl in the orange dress? >65: What is a wordsearch book? A book in which you can look up words you can fill in in crossword-puzzles or something? I was wondering if anyone had any of the following Tarzan books by Edgar Rice Burroughs: #6, 13, 16-20, 22-24 No, a book filled with wordsearches! You know, the find-the-words thing.... like this: http://bookmooch.com/m/detail/1407516019 I just figured out the perfect Christmas-ish present for a friend. Trouble is, it's not available on BM and I have no money to buy it. So I'm wondering if any of you have a copy! A History of Irish Fairies http://bookmooch.com/m/detail/0786715391 So, I've hopefully found Hard Eight, but does anyone have Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers? And, still looking for any nepali language books. Thanks. Your link leads to the "Pimp Your Inventory" thread mac - which is also a fun thread :P Oh for pete's sake (who ever pete is I don't know, but his press agent was working overtime when she got his that contract- much like the "very good Eddie" Eddie). Thanks for fixing! Gruodžio 11, 2009, 4:08pm (Į viršų)Žinutė 74: ForeignCircus73: I think the 'Pete' is St. Peter himself (this was a nice non-blasphemous way of say "For God's sake!") Huh- really? now that is an interesting tidbit. My Rel. Anthropology class would say it is an example of how people who do not necessarily participate in a religion end up "reciting the code" (sort of like saying "God bless you" or "Bless you". ) of another religion. Well that was a random tidbit- lol. :D (Į viršų) Debug test: your member name is: |
